Ruettgers against Magna



Dusseldorf - North Rhine-Westphalia state premier Juergen Ruettgers (CDU) has rejected the concept of the Austro-Canadian Magna Group to the rescue of Opel.
It is unfair to the Opel's Bochum plant, because Magna plans to cut 2500 jobs in Germany, of which the NRW-2200th Location Ruettgers: "This is a one-sided distribution of the burden."
According to Economics Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (CSU) Magna has, however, the most interesting concept of the three proposals. Federal Foreign Minister and SPD candidate for chancellor, Frank-Walter Stein Meier called the Magna plans as "very viable concept."
On the other hand was the offer from Fiat "far removed from what we had hoped for," said Hesse Premier Roland Koch (CDU). Third bidder in the group is the U.S. investment fund Ripplewood.
